Stratification of Internet users in the Czech Republic

The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to design a class scheme of Czech Internet users and at the same time to present a sufficient argumentative basis for such a theoretical construct. Following the research tradition of the digital divide and the Bourdieuan concept of capital, this work tries to connect these aspects both on a theoretical and empirical level and at the same time critically evaluate usefulness of used research tool, research design and conclusions they provide from data analysis and own questionnaire survey. In the analytical part, the author presents the method of conceptualization and transformation of data, the link to other research in the field of the digital divide and presents an exploratory analytical view of the structure of Czech Internet users. The analysis presents the distinguishing characteristics of the given clusters, which arose from the performed cluster analysis. In conclusion, the author states that the concept of digital capital is a suitable research tool for capturing digital inequalities among Czech Internet users.
